What do the warning colours mean?

Red Alert

Risk Level: VERY HIGH or EXTREME RISK

Dangerous conditions are imminent or already occurring. There is a very high potential for multiple lives to be lost and major damage to property and infrastructure. Action Required: Find Safe Shelter - Take immediate action to safeguard yourself & your family. Remain indoors. Evacuate to a safe location if your current location is unsafe, or if instructed to do so by Government Officials.

Orange Alert

Risk Level: HIGH RISK

Hazardous conditions likely to threaten lives, livelihoods, and property. Serious injuries or casualties are possible. Action Required: Make Preparations - Make preparations to protect yourself, your family, your livelihood and your property. Assess the safety of your current location.

Yellow Alert

Risk Level: MODERATE RISK

Conditions may cause some disruptions in a few places. There is some potential for harm. Most people will be able to go about their normal activities, but some will be directly impacted. Action Required: Increase Monitoring - Increase monitoring of your environment, and pay more attention to updates from official sources and the media.

Green Alert

Risk Level: LOW RISK

Risk posed has dropped to a safe level. Only used for cancellations/discontinuations. Action Required: Remain Vigilant - Be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to other warnings that may still be in effect. Consider restocking emergency supplies. Review your emergency plan.
