The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) continues to monitor a Tropical Wave located approximately 1300 km east of the Windward islands. 

At this time, Tuesday 11^th August, 2026, the system is no longer expected to become more organized, and it now has a 0% chance of developing into a Tropical Cyclone over the next seven (7) days. 

The tropical wave is being affected by a moderate concentration of Saharan dust that is limiting the potential for development of strong and organized thunderstorms. Notwithstanding this,  the TTMS will continue to monitor the wave as it moves westward, and assess its possible influence on local weather conditions.

THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO WATCHES OR WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO.

This will be the final Official Statement regarding the potential for tropical cyclone development associated with this system. The TTMS will continue to monitor the tropical wave through its routine forecasting operations.
